Why there is no personal byline
Live Ranch Life is published under its own name so the guides stand on their sources rather than on a personality. Every number links back to where it came from, so you can check it yourself.
How facts are checked
A guide is marked "Last verified" only after each figure has been checked against a primary source: the Manatee and Sarasota county property appraisers and tax collectors, the Lakewood Ranch community development districts, county ordinances, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, FEMA and the organizations named. Figures carry the month and year they were checked, and each page lists its sources. 75 of 75 guides are verified today. Pages about taxes, real estate and insurance are general information, not advice for your situation.
Corrections and updates
Prices and fees are reviewed at least every quarter, the events calendar every month, and tax and CDD figures each November when new bills go out. If something is wrong, tell us; corrections are made as soon as they are confirmed. The full process is in our editorial policy.
